Adult

Our Adult Ministries include a variety of opportunities for men and women to grow in their faith:

  • Lifelong Learning and Equipping Center (LLEC) offers adult Christian education and training for successful living and ministry.
  • Home Small Groups—Life transformation in the company of friends—The vision of Home Small Groups at the Village Church of Barrington is to nurture smaller Christian communities of love, encouragement, care-giving and hope within the larger church. “We are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.” Ephesians 4:15, 16
  • Men’s and Women’s Ministries provide times for prayer, Bible study, recreation, annual retreats, and evangelistic outreach, which encourage men and women to grow spiritually.
  • Ironmen—(Men’s Ministry) “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17) with a variety of opportunities for friendship, spiritual growth and service.
  • Wise Guys—is our group of men 60 and older who meet for fellowship and continuing Christian growth.
  • Day Trippers—(Women’s Ministry) is our ladies ‘over 50’ group who get together for various outings and adventures throughout the year. A fun bunch of ladies with a “spring” to their step. Join us!
  • MOPS (Women’s Ministry) is for any mother of children ages 0-5.  The moms get together for fun, food, and learning, while kids participate in classes of their own. Learn more here.
  • Women of Wit and Wisdom—Based on Titus 2 and 3, this event is a panel-discussion format and gives women the opportunity to share ideas and experiences on Christian living.
  • Mentoring/Discipleship allows adults to engage in both being mentored and mentoring others to establish them in the essentials of the faith in harmony with Jesus’ plan for disciple-making.
  • Full Life Singles offers unique opportunities to adults who are single, widowed or divorced for learning, socializing and serving together with singles from other area churches.
  • Prayer Ministry—A praying church creates a spiritual atmosphere most favorable to preaching and making the conditions favorable for hearing the Gospel. The Pastors’ Prayer Team’s mission is to provide an opportunity for Village Church attendees to participate in intercessory prayer on a regular basis, while its vision is that this church would be known as “A House of Prayer.” The power of the church today is still in prayer.
