I (Josh) grew up in Wichita, Kansas with my parents and an older sister. God opened many doors for me in Wichita to help me see who He is and to grow in my faith in Him. Natasha was also born and raised in Wichita. We both attended Wichita Northwest High School where we became great friends. God later directed me to John Brown University where I got my degree in Children and Family Ministries. Natasha went to the University of Kansas to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology. We remained close friends throughout our first year of college and decided to try dating when we were sophomores. Over the next two and a half years we dated long distance, fell in love, and decided to make a life-long commitment. I graduated in May of 2006, and in August married my best friend. We have been enjoying the life God has given us together these past two years.
“After graduating from John Brown, I began working as the Children’s Director at an EFCA church in Winfield, KS. My responsibilities included AWANA Commander, coordinating VBS, Sunday School and Children’s Church. People say that I am a huge kid at heart. I love to build relationships by playing with the children and getting on their level to show them that I respect and care for them.
“For the past year, Natasha has been working for a newspaper in the composing department; however, she would really like to go back to school to get a nursing degree. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing sports/doing anything athletic, decorating anything and everything, doing arts and crafts, and traveling.
“Working with kids is something that I have always loved—especially in a church setting. Children are so eager to learn about the love of God, and the fact that I have been given the opportunity to introduce them to God is huge and exciting! If God continues to allow our paths to cross, I look forward to serving alongside you and for you.”
