Women's Bible Study

And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God require of you,
but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve
the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul,
and to keep the commandments and statutes of the Lord,
which I am commanding you today for your good?
Behold, to the Lord your God belong heaven
and the heaven of heavens, the earth with all that is in it.
Deuteronomy 10:12 – 14

Would you like to learn how to dig into God’s word in a meaningful way? To discern the who, what, where, when and why of Scripture? This fall our Precept study will delve into the book of Joshua. We look forward to growing in our faith as we learn what it means to “be strong and courageous” as we trust & obey the Lord Who has promised to be with [us] wherever [we] go. (Joshua 1:9)

This year we are offering two workbook options. The Precept Upon Precept format provides five daily lessons for each week, each lesson taking about an hour a day. A second option, the In and Out format, is a streamlined approach to the same material, requiring fewer hours of weekly study. If you are new to Precepts, a mentor can be provided to walk you through the first few lessons. Finding time to study may seem daunting, but developing the habit of regularly spending time in God’s Word brings inestimable blessing. Whichever format you choose, you will experience “ah-ha” moments as you discover truth, be encouraged as you share the relevance of your discoveries, and be challenged by teaching that “goes deep” in application to today’s culture.

This semester Solid Ground will be studying a survey of Bible characters. Although we may have once seen these women and men as the heroes of a long-ago time, they were real people with whom we have much in common. They are not just the stars of "Bible stories", but imperfect, often struggling human beings who God used to bring about His perfect plan. We will be focusing on the ways God used their lives to bring about the good He intends for His people. By learning about their times, culture, and relationship to God, we will see the marvel of how our great God uses broken people. Come with us on a tour through the Scripture as God unfolds the plan He made before creation.

Our class format is soft lecture with questions, opinions, and discussion welcomed! No homework is required but reading suggestions will be shared. Come join a friendly, caring group of women who love the Scripture.

DISCIPLESHIP BIBLE STUDIES: THE GOSPEL OF JOHN (Monday night, 7 – 8:45PM; Tuesday morning, 9:30 – 11:30AM; and Tuesday night, 6:30 – 8:15PM)
This September, we begin the joyous adventure of a verse-by-verse study through the Gospel of John! As we focus on Jesus as our Savior, our Creator and our living example, we will dive into what it means – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. (John 1:1)
In our discipleship Bible studies, the teaching time is followed by discussion and prayer in a smaller discipleship group so that we may flesh out the application and walk through accountability.

Monday evening teacher: Carol Jenkins
Tuesday morning teachers: Amy Loesch and Sue Schnell
Tuesday evening teacher: Val Stutz
